Thomas de Monthermer, 2nd Baron Monthermer, was born to Ralph de Monthermer, 1st Baron Monthermer, and Joan of Acre, making him a grandson of King Edward I of England and a first cousin of King Edward III. He inherited the title of Baron Monthermer upon his father’s death. Thomas married Margaret de Brewes and had a daughter, Margaret, who later married John de Montacute. Thomas died from wounds sustained at the Battle of Sluys.
