Rozala of Italy

Rozala of Italy, also known as Rozala of Lombardy or Susanna of Ivrea, was born between 950 and 960 as the daughter of King Berengar of Ivrea and Willa of Tuscany. She married Arnulf II, Count of Flanders, in 976, becoming the countess consort of Flanders. Upon Arnulf's death in 987, Rozala served as regent for their young son, Baldwin IV of Flanders, until her remarriage.

In 988, Rozala married Robert II of France, the son of Hugh Capet, and became queen consort of the Franks. The marriage, however, was troubled, and the couple lived separately from 991/992 due to their poor relationship and Rozala's age. After Hugh Capet's death in 996, Robert repudiated Rozala, seeking to marry Bertha of Burgundy, though this union was later deemed unlawful.

Rozala returned to Flanders, where she died in 1003 and was buried. Her son Baldwin IV succeeded her in Flanders.
