Margaret Wake, 3rd Baroness Wake of Liddell

Margaret Wake, suo jure 3rd Baroness Wake of Liddell and Countess of Kent, was born around 1297 and passed away on 19 September 1349. She was married to Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent, the youngest surviving son of Edward I of England and Margaret of France. Her parentage includes John Wake, 1st Baron Wake of Liddell and Joan de Fiennes, with connections to royal and noble lines including Llywelyn the Great and Eleanor of England, Queen of Castile.

Her first marriage was to John Comyn around 1312, who died at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, leaving her a widow with a young son who also died in infancy. Her second marriage to Edmund of Woodstock resulted in the birth of two sons and two daughters, with one daughter, Joan of Kent, becoming notable as the wife of Edward, the Black Prince. Margaret briefly succeeded as Baroness Wake of Liddell in 1349 before dying in the same year during a plague outbreak.
