Margaret Beauchamp of Bletsoe

Margaret Beauchamp, born circa 1410, was the daughter of Sir John Beauchamp of Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, and his second wife, Edith Stourton. She inherited substantial estates after the death of her only brother, John Beauchamp, and through him, potentially held a claim to the barony of Beauchamp.

She married three times, first to Sir Oliver St John, then to John Beaufort, 1st Duke of Somerset, and lastly to Lionel de Welles, 6th Baron Welles. Her second marriage produced a daughter who would become the mother of Henry VII. Margaret Beauchamp’s burial was alongside her second husband at Wimborne Minster in Dorset.
