Katherine de la Pole, Countess of Suffolk, was born around 1376 as a daughter of Hugh de Stafford, 2nd Earl of Stafford, and his wife Lady Philippa de Beauchamp. She married Michael de la Pole, 2nd Earl of Suffolk, and through this marriage, she acquired the title of Countess of Suffolk.

Katherine’s family included notable figures such as her siblings Margaret de Stafford, Countess of Westmorland, and Edmund Stafford, 5th Earl of Stafford. Her ancestry connected her to English royalty, with grandmothers descending from Edward I and John, King of England.
