Jane Boleyn, Lady Rochford

Jane Boleyn, Viscountess Rochford, was born Jane Parker around 1505 in Norfolk, England. She was the daughter of Henry Parker, 10th Baron Morley, and Alice St. John. Jane was sent to the royal court in her early teens, joining the household of King Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon. She participated in the 1520 state visit to France, known as "The Field of the Cloth of Gold".

In late 1524 or early 1525, Jane married George Boleyn, brother of Anne Boleyn, who later became the second wife of King Henry VIII. As a wedding gift, the couple received Grimston Manor in Norfolk from the King. Jane gained the title of Viscountess Rochford in 1529 when her husband was made a viscount. Their marriage has been portrayed as unhappy, though some historians suggest otherwise.

Jane's husband, George Boleyn, was executed on 17 May 1536, accused of being one of Anne Boleyn's lovers. Anne was executed two days later. Jane's involvement in their downfall is uncertain, but she faced social and financial difficulties afterward. Jane continued to use her courtesy title of Viscountess Rochford.

Jane Boleyn was executed on 13 February 1542 at the Tower of London and was buried at the Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula. She was executed alongside her cousin-in-law, Catherine Howard.
