George Plantagenet, 1st Duke of Bedford, was the eighth child and third son of King Edward IV of England and Elizabeth Woodville. He was born at Windsor Castle and became Duke of Bedford as an infant after the title was removed from George Neville by an act of Parliament. Despite his appointment as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, his role was nominal and he never actually visited Ireland. His life was cut short at the age of two, likely due to an outbreak of bubonic plague.
Death: Died at the age of two, likely from bubonic plague, and was buried at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
