Geoffrey of Brionne, known also as Godfrey, was a prominent figure in the late tenth and early eleventh centuries, holding the titles of Count of Eu and Brionne. Born as the son of Duke Richard I of Normandy, his exact birthdate is unknown, and he passed away around the year 1010. His status was partly a result of the political strategies of his half-brother, Richard II of Normandy, who created the county of Eu for Geoffrey in 996. The strategically significant citadel of Eu, located near the English Channel, was part of this endowment.
Death: Geoffrey died around 1010 and was buried in the Duchy of Normandy.
