Elizabeth of York served as Queen of England from 18 January 1486 until her death on 11 February 1503. Born at Westminster Palace, she was the eldest child of King Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. Her early betrothal to George Neville was annulled, and a subsequent marriage agreement with the Dauphin of France fell through. After her father’s death, Elizabeth’s younger brothers disappeared, and she was declared illegitimate by the act of Parliament Titulus Regius. Despite this, she married Henry VII, uniting the houses of York and Lancaster and ending the Wars of the Roses. Elizabeth bore seven children, including the future Henry VIII. She was crowned on 25 November 1487 but played a minimal role in politics during her tenure as queen consort.
Death: Died at age 37 at the Tower of London; buried at Westminster Abbey.
