Elizabeth of Rhuddlan

Elizabeth of Rhuddlan was the eighth and youngest daughter of King Edward I of England and Queen Eleanor of Castile. She was closely bonded with her younger brother, King Edward II, as they were close in age. Elizabeth’s first marriage was to John I, Count of Holland, but the union ended with his death in 1299 without producing heirs. She then married Humphrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford, in 1302 and bore him numerous children, including notable figures such as Eleanor de Bohun, John de Bohun, 5th Earl of Hereford, Humphrey de Bohun, 6th Earl of Hereford, Margaret de Bohun, Countess of Devon, and William de Bohun, 1st Earl of Northampton. Elizabeth passed away shortly after giving birth to her eleventh child, a daughter named Isabella, who also died.
