Eleanor of Normandy, born between 1011 and 1013, was the daughter of Richard II, Duke of Normandy, and Judith of Brittany. Her family included two sisters, three brothers, and two half-brothers from her father’s second marriage to Poppa of Envermeu. Her brother Robert I was the father of William the Conqueror. Eleanor became Countess of Flanders through her marriage to Baldwin IV of Flanders, who was significantly older than her.
She married Baldwin IV around 1031, becoming his second wife and Countess of Flanders. Her tenure as countess lasted until Baldwin’s death in 1035. They had one daughter together. The name Eleanor is associated with her, but its accuracy as her actual name is uncertain. Eleanor passed away sometime after 1071 in Flanders.
