Edward, the 2nd Duke of York, was an English nobleman, military leader, and magnate who served as a commander during the reigns of Richard II, Henry IV, and Henry V. As the eldest son of Edmund of Langley, the 1st Duke of York, and a grandson of King Edward III, he was a significant figure in English politics and military affairs. He is also noted for his literary contribution through the translation of the hunting treatise ‘The Master of Game.’ His military career culminated in his role at the Battle of Agincourt, where he commanded the right wing of the English army.
Death: Died at the age of approximately 42 at the Battle of Agincourt and was buried at the Church of St Mary and All Saints, Fotheringhay.
