Adelaide of Normandy

Adelaide of Normandy, born around 1030, was the illegitimate daughter of Robert the Magnificent, Duke of Normandy. She was the sister of William the Conqueror. Adelaide first married Enguerrand II, Count of Ponthieu, which was annulled around 1049/50. Her second marriage to Lambert II, Count of Lens, ended with his death in 1054.

After Lambert's death, Adelaide lived in Aumale and became involved with the Abbey of Saint-Martin d'Auchy. In 1060, she married Odo, Count of Champagne. Adelaide held lands in England as a tenant-in-chief, as recorded in the Domesday Book, and was one of the few Norman noblewomen to do so.

Adelaide died before 1090. Her son Stephen succeeded her as Count of Aumale.
