David Armstrong-Jones 2nd Earl of Snowdon

David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon, was born on 3 November 1961 and is known professionally as David Linley. He is a member of the British royal family, an English furniture maker, and the honorary chairman of Christie’s UK. He is the maternal first cousin of King Charles III and the only son of Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon. His birth placed him 5th in line to the British throne, and as of May 2023, he is 25th in the line of succession.

David was educated at several independent schools, including Bedales School, where he developed a passion for arts and crafts. He studied at Parnham House for craftsmen in wood. Linley founded his own company, David Linley Furniture Limited, known for bespoke furniture and interior design products. He also served as the chairman of Christie’s UK and later became honorary chairman. In 2018, he became a candidate in a by-election for the House of Lords but withdrew his candidacy. Linley’s personal life includes his marriage to Serena Stanhope and having two children, and they separated in 2020.
