Count Edward of Bar

Edward I, known as the Count of Bar, assumed the title in 1302 following the death of his father, Henry III. As he was a minor at the time, his rule began under the regency of his uncles. He reached his majority in 1310 and actively engaged in military and political affairs, notably being captured in 1313 during conflict with Frederick of Lorraine. Edward demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by constructing a hydraulic forge in 1323. His life came to an end in a shipwreck while on a Crusade in 1336.
