Arthur, Prince of Wales, was the eldest son of King Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York. Born in Winchester Cathedral Priory, he was the firstborn child to the king and queen, thereby symbolizing the union of the Houses of Lancaster and York. Arthur was made Duke of Cornwall at birth and was later appointed Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester. Educated under several distinguished tutors, he was known to be a skilled pupil, proficient in archery and dancing. His marriage to Catherine of Aragon was intended to strengthen an Anglo-Spanish alliance. Unfortunately, Arthur died at the age of 15 at Ludlow Castle, shortly after marrying Catherine.
Death: Died at the age of 15, possibly from sweating sickness, and was buried at Worcester Cathedral
