Anne Princess Royal

Anne, Princess Royal (Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise), was born on 15 August 1950 as the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Her birthplace was Clarence House, and she was educated at Benenden School. As a member of the British royal family, Anne has carried out official duties since reaching adulthood. Her royal engagements are numerous, and she has been Princess Royal since 1987, a title she holds for life. She is known for her accomplishments in equestrian sports, including winning medals at the European Eventing Championships and competing in the 1976 Olympic Games.

Aside from her sporting achievements, Anne is heavily involved in charity work, serving as patron or president of over 300 organisations. Her charitable focus spans sports, sciences, people with disabilities, and health in developing countries. She has a long-standing association with Save the Children, visiting numerous projects over five decades. Anne’s personal life has seen her marriage to Captain Mark Phillips in 1973, their divorce in 1992, and her subsequent marriage to Commander Sir Timothy Laurence the same year. She has two children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, and five grandchildren.
