Alice of France, also known as Alix, was born in July or August of 1150 and served as the countess consort of Blois through her marriage to Theobald. She took on the role of regent of Blois during Theobald’s absence in 1190–1191, and later during the minority of their son Louis from 1191 until 1197. As the daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Louis VII of France, she was a member of the prominent Capet family and had several notable siblings and half-siblings.
Her marriage to Theobald V, Count of Blois, occurred in 1164, when she was just 14 years old. This union resulted in seven children, with Louis I, Count of Blois, being one of them. Alice passed away in either 1197 or 1198, leaving a significant mark on the political landscape of her time through her regency and familial connections.
