Alexandra of Denmark

Princess Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louise Julia, also known as Alix, was born into a modest Danish royal family before her eventual rise to prominence as the wife of King-Emperor Edward VII. Her early life was marked by relative obscurity until her father’s ascension to the Danish throne. As Princess of Wales, she held the title for an unprecedented duration and was widely admired for her fashion sense and charitable work. Although she had little influence in political matters, Alexandra endeavored to support Danish and Greek interests. Upon Queen Victoria’s death, she became Queen-Empress alongside her husband until his death in 1910, after which she was known as the queen mother. Alexandra passed away at the age of 80 at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England.
